Staff Development
Will be ongoing using up to date research workshops and training session will be developed in line with NVQ. Each member of staff is issued with a development handbook to give clear concise training path.All recruits are provided with an initial three month package of formal training, with both "on the job" experience and classroom theory. The overall aim is to increase individual experience swiftly and to provide opportunities for personal development. Thereafter care assistants will identify with the NVQ assessor what training and experience would help further to gain NVQ2 and progress through the levels of the grading scheme.
Accompaniment by management
Is carried out on a rolling system with each member of staff being assessed by a team manager or supervisor at least four times per year (assessments for NVQ trainees is far more regular). Assessment of each person's performance will be made and included in the appraisal interview. Further accompaniments will be made should any trends from complaints or knowledge of any failings of care assistants.
Appraisals of Staff
Badminton Care has a policy of annual appraisals with employees. The underlying purpose of appraisals is to give every employee the opportunity:-- To discuss with his/her senior the employees work and progress in the previous period.
- To agree priorities for improvement of performance in the ensuing year
- discuss. where appropriate, future career developments.
- To discuss the future of the business, and anything else that may improve work related
