Grading scheme
A grading scheme is used as a tool to motivate and encourage individuals to gain skills through NVQ. The scheme will have 4 simple levels linked to length of service, induction training and NVQ. With a further 2 levels for management.Training
Training will be a key aspect of staff retention. Our training programme is aligned with the recommendations of Skills for Care Council. We will be aiming for 60% of our own workforce to be trained to NVQ level 2 by April 2007, all of our care staff are currently working towards NVQ2.
Badminton Care is in a strong position regarding training having:
- Dedicated training Department
- Dedicated training rooms
- Equipment owned and availible at all times, used for training includes hoist's, glide sheets, glide boards, wheel chair, bath hoist, Rota stand, pressure relieving aids, incontinence equipment,
- Badminton Care Training has a full induction training programme for all new care assistants, which includes:
- understanding principles of care
- understanding the organisation and role of the worker
- maintaining safety at work
- communicating effectively
- recognising and responding to abuse and neglect
- developing as a worker
Ongoing training sessions are held in line with underpinning knowledge for NVQ
During the induction training successful candidates are given our 'tool pack' this pack contains all the relevant tools for the job.
